Class Description

Learn the importance of a work in progress report and how to use the WIP as a tool for reporting, forecasting, and project management.

In this class, we will demystify and discuss the importance of a work in progress report (WIP) to a subcontractor, and how to use the WIP as a tool for reporting, forecasting, and project management.

Participants can expect to learn the following things in this class:

  • Learn what a Work in Progress report is
  • How to use the WIP report regularly as part of running your business and not just a periodic reporting task for financial statements.
  • How the best subcontractors use their WIP as a management/forecasting tool
  • How to help manage your operation using the WIP report
  • How to use the WIP report as an asset to and from my company?

Understanding the WIP can help subcontractors identify strong performing jobs and customers. This can be extremely beneficial when bidding work and evaluating customers/general contractors going forward

Class Level

This is a beginner level class: Beginner level firms are either a start up business or in ramp up mode where your business is picking up, you have at least one active contract, hired your first few employees and you are working on your business fulltime.
